The majority of this Bearcat was found rusting away on a ranch in Montana back in the 1970's. It was badly deteriorated and had been scavenged. What sheet metal remained for discovery was only good for pattern although surprisingly the gas tank survived in very good condition. The missing vital mechanical components were replaced by ones found both at Harrah's and the Los Angeles County Museum. The project has passed through several owners since, each adding to its completion. In almost all circumstances this has been a hurculean rescue mission requiring the participation of most of the known Stutz authorities, then and now.
The result is a vehicle which is reasonably correct with regard to chassis components excepting for minor details. Every attempt was made to save and reuse any origianl parts to keep this series "E" as close to authentic delivery specifications as possible. There have been no corners cut or short routes taken to bring this Bearcat back from its sorry state. Today the vehicle, done in an original scheme of vermillion and green with full nickel trim is no less than stunning, sure to please those enthusiasts respecting Stutz's role as an American Automotive Icon and image maker in the sporting vehicle class.
